Basement Spray Foam
Basement spray foam insulation seals and warms foundation walls in a single application, rough Galt fieldstone included. A clammy, cold cellar becomes a room you can actually use.
View Basement Spray FoamMetal building spray foam ends dripping steel and holds heat in workshops, machine sheds, quonset huts and steel garages. It bonds directly to the panels and closes every seam.
Each shed and shop job is fully insured. Ontario rates for steel buildings and workshops run about $2 to $5 per square foot, confirmed on paper after a visit.
Heat a steel shop and the moist air inside hits frigid metal and condenses. It then rains down on tools, trucks and stored gear. Foam sprayed on the panels keeps their inner face warm, so that moisture never gets a cold surface.
Fibreglass blankets behind plastic tend to fail in these buildings. One tear in the plastic and the blanket soaks through, rusting the steel behind it.
Closed cell foam stops air and vapour in one layer. It also stiffens thin sheeting and dulls the drumming of rain on the roof. Walls, roof and end walls are all sprayed, with care taken around doors and windows.
Farms and country lots near Ayr, Branchton and Roseville hold plenty of steel machine sheds and hobby shops. Spray foam makes them warm enough to heat and use all winter long.
Turning an unheated storage shed into a heated workshop can change the rules on covering foam. We tell you what to ask the building department before the project begins.
Arched quonset buildings are almost all roof, so they lose heat and drip faster than a square shed. Foam follows the curve without seams or fasteners, which no blanket or board can do. Foam on a quonset turns a cold storage shell into a usable shop.
It depends on how you use the building. A shop held just above freezing needs less depth than one heated to working temperature all winter. Two inches of closed cell foam stops most dripping. More depth adds heat savings. Your estimate lists the inches for walls and roof separately, so the choice is clear.
Steel panels should be clean and dry before foam goes on. Oil, dust and frost all stop foam from bonding, so we wipe or blow down the panels and check the surface temperature first. Metal building spray foam goes on best when the steel is above freezing, which is why winter jobs may need a heater running the night before.
Move vehicles and tools to the centre of the floor and we cover them. Doors and windows are masked, and overspray on the floor is scraped up before we leave.

Two services often share one trip, such as a foundation wall plus the rim joist above it.

Attic spray foam insulation keeps furnace heat from escaping through the ceiling and makes upstairs bedrooms bearable in summer and winter. Open attics, finished attics and sloped ceilings are all candidates for attic spray foam.

Crawl space spray foam takes the bite out of cold floors and keeps earthy, damp air below the house where it belongs. Additions, sunrooms, old summer kitchens and cottages often need it.

Commercial spray foam suits roof decks and walls in factories, warehouses, shops and offices, on steel, block or wood. It cuts heating losses and stops condensation in one application.

Garage spray foam heats up the cold bedroom over an attached garage and keeps exhaust fumes out of the house. Garages being turned into heated shops or home gyms get it too.

Wall spray foam fills opened stud cavities during a renovation and closes the cracks that let winter in. Plaster-and-lath houses, additions and new builds all benefit.

Rim joist spray foam seals the board capping the ends of the floor joists, which is the leakiest spot in most basements. The job is short and the difference is easy to feel.

Insulation removal clears out foam that smells, has shrunk or has peeled off the studs, so a new layer can bond to clean lumber or concrete. We also handle insulation removal for old batts and loose fill in attics.
