Basement Spray Foam
Basement spray foam insulation seals and warms foundation walls in a single application, rough Galt fieldstone included. A clammy, cold cellar becomes a room you can actually use.
View Basement Spray FoamCrawl space spray foam takes the bite out of cold floors and keeps earthy, damp air below the house where it belongs. Additions, sunrooms, old summer kitchens and cottages often need it.
Crawl space jobs are fully insured like everything else we do. Ontario rates usually run $3.50 to $7 per square foot of wall, because tight quarters slow the work.
Instead of the floor overhead, we spray the foundation walls and band joist. That moves the crawl space inside the heated envelope, so pipes stay above freezing and the floor above stays warm.
Closed cell foam is the product of choice here. It resists vapour coming through masonry and will not wick up water like a batt does.
Plenty of older Preston and Galt houses have a back addition perched on a shallow crawl space. Those rooms are typically the coldest in the home, and with no room for thick batts, foam on the walls is the practical fix.
Bare earth lets moisture rise into the space all year. If no ground sheet exists, we lay heavy poly and tape it. The wall foam then locks that sheet in place along the edges.
Entry is usually through a hatch or small door. Before quoting, we check for pooled water, old wiring and animals. Anything that needs repair beforehand gets flagged, and covering rules for exposed foam in your crawl space are explained up front.
Water lines that run through a cold crawl space are the first to freeze in a deep January cold snap. Crawl space spray foam insulation on the walls keeps the whole space above freezing, so the pipes are protected without heat tape or blankets wrapped around each line.
It also helps the floor. Rooms over a sealed crawl space lose the cold, hollow feel underfoot, and the furnace no longer has to fight a draft coming up through the boards.
Most crawl spaces are done in a day. Small spaces under a sunroom can take only a few hours. We need clear access and a path for the hose from the truck, and that is about it from you.
Many older crawl spaces have vents to the outside. They were meant to dry the space, but in a humid Ontario summer they bring in warm, wet air that condenses on the cool floor framing. Crawl space spray foam works best when those vents are closed and the space is sealed and treated as part of the house.
We look at how your crawl space connects to the basement or the outdoors and explain whether the vents should be closed. The building department may want to see the plan, and we tell you what to ask.

Two services often share one trip, such as a foundation wall plus the rim joist above it.

Attic spray foam insulation keeps furnace heat from escaping through the ceiling and makes upstairs bedrooms bearable in summer and winter. Open attics, finished attics and sloped ceilings are all candidates for attic spray foam.

Rim joist spray foam seals the board capping the ends of the floor joists, which is the leakiest spot in most basements. The job is short and the difference is easy to feel.

Insulation removal clears out foam that smells, has shrunk or has peeled off the studs, so a new layer can bond to clean lumber or concrete. We also handle insulation removal for old batts and loose fill in attics.
